Council Positions

Council Positions

The following is a list of positions with a brief description of their role on Society. Each role links to a more detailed report on what is involved with that role and the experiences of members in that position in the past.

Executive

President

Currently Held By: $president$

President is responsible for representing the Society as the head of the executive.

Vice President Internal

Currently Held By: $vpinternal$

VP-Internal is responsible for reporting on activities within the faculty: undergrad committee, graduate committee, Dean's Advisor committee, etc.

Vice President External

Currently Held By: $vpexternal$

VP-External is responsible for reporting on activities (e.g., joint works, interesting news, external funding) between The Society and the external parties with which it deals--especially the DSU.

Treasurer

Currently Held By: $treasurer$

Treasurers are responsible for handling all financial matters of the society: keeping record of all transactions, handling reimbursements, handling invoices, preparing a budget, performing reconciliations and preparing an audit for the DSU.

Secretary

Currently Held By: $secretary$

Secretary is responsible for taking minutes at all the meetings as well as preparing correspondence on behalf of the Society.

Year Representatives

Senior Undergraduate Representative

Currently Held By: $srugrad$

Senior Undergraduate Representative is responsible for representing students in the third and fourth year of all undergraduate degrees in the Faculty of Computer Science (Computer Science and Informatics).

Junior Undergraduate Representative

Currently Held By: $jrugrad$

Junior Undergraduate Representative is responsible for representing students in the first and second year of all undergraduate degrees in the Faculty of Computer Science (Computer Science and Informatics).

Undergraduate Computer Science Representative

Currently Held By: $ugradrep$

Undergraduate Computer Science Representative is responsible for representing students in all years of undergraduate degrees in Computer Science only.

Undergraduate Informatics Representative

Currently Held By: $ugradinforep$

Undergraduate Informatics Representative is responsible for representing students in all years of undergraduate degrees in Informatics.

Graduate Representative

Currently Held By: $gradrep$

Graduate Representatives are responsible for representing graduate students in the Faculty of Computer Science, to attend meetings on behalf of all graduate students and to keep the students informed.

Multidisciplinary Graduate Representative

Currently Held By: $multigrad$

Multidisciplinary Graduate Representatives are responsible for representing graduate students in the Faculty of Computer Science, to attend meetings on behalf of all graduate students and to keep the students informed in multidisplinary degrees.

Other Representatives

Co-op Representative

Currently Held By: $cooprep$

The Co-op representative is responsible for acting as a liaison between students and the Co-op Office and attending co-op meetings to which students are invited.

Social Representative

Currently Held By: $socialrep$

The Social Representative is responsible for the planning and execution of social events throughout the term.

Athletic Representative

Currently Held By: $athletics$

The Athletic rep is responsible for entering teams into intramural competition. He serves as CS liaison at Campus Rec meetings.

Member-at-large

To represent the Faculty of Computer Science as a whole and to act on the direction of the Council.
