Society Orientation

The event includes:

8:00-10:00: Breakfast in the CS Building. Stop by for a free breakfast and hang out before class.

10:00: Walking tour of the area around Dal, covering landmarks of interest, local computer shops, etc.

12:00: BBQ lunch, free for new CS students.

1:00-5:00: Board Games and Video games rooms open.

5:30-12:00: Slip and Slide in the Boulevard and Games set up in the Atrium. Primarily non-alcoholic although there will be a cooler of beer. Our Bartender can mix some very interesting non-alcoholic drinks.

Come out and meet the Faculty. There is a free BBQ for any First Year Undergraduate and Graduate student. Following the BBQ there are tons of fun activities as part of a competition.

Events:

1:00-1:30: BBQ
1:30-2:30: Competition involving teams visiting stations throughout the CS Building to get the most points.

Stations include:

Rainbow Four: Halifax: The meta-scavenger hunt
The Sims 4: Actual Humans
Codename Moncton
Tetris: Fix My Computer Edition
The Career Booth
3D Scanning
LEGO Robots
Informatics Activity

The top 3 teams from these events will face off with Trivia in the Boulevard outside the CS Building.

This promises to be a ton of fun and I encourage everyone to take part.

New Council Members

Congratulations to Stewart Rand and Adam Schofield on their appointment to our council.

Stewart is now our Treasurer and Adam is our Informatics Rep.
