First Meeting of New Council

Hi Everyone,

My name is Chris Cook and I have been elected as President of the Computer Science Society for the Fall and Winter terms.

The first meeting of the new Society Council is tomorrow (Wednesday, Aug 26th) at 5:30 in Teaching Lab 3 of the Goldberg Computer Science Building.
Anyone is welcome and encouraged to attend this meeting. I would like to make this year an excellent year for all CS students.

The following positions remain open on our council:

* Treasurer
* Multidisciplinary Graduate Representative
* Junior Undergraduate Representative (1st and 2nd year students)
* Senior Undergraduate Representative (3rd and 4th year students)
* Undergraduate Computer Science Representative
* Undergraduate Informatics Representative
* Co-op Representative
* Social Representative
* Athletic Representative

Anyone interested in these positions should attend the meeting (preferred) or send an e-mail to cook@cs.dal.ca with what you would like to run for and a small paragraph about yourself to be read to the council. The council will then vote on appointing any new members.

The agenda for the meeting is as follows:

* Reports
o Transition Officer's (Myself) summary on the actions of the
previous council.
o Any actions taken by members since the previous council
dissolved

* Discuss how new council will be conducted
* Appointing new members to council
* Marketing Focus Group
* Orientation events/volunteering
* Website/Profiles
* Discuss the time for meetings during the Fall Semester.

I hope to see as many of you there as possible and am looking forward to getting the new council off to a good start.

-- Chris Cook
