BBQs discontinued for August

The weekly barbecues will be discontinued for the month of August, as our volunteers will be away on vacation. We hope to start them back up again in September.

Weekly Licensed BBQ Behind CS Building Fridays at Noon

The CS Society will be holding barbecues every Friday at noon behind the CS Building.

We serve hamburgers, hot dogs, sausages, and veggie items all at $1 each.

Snowball 2009 Award Winners

Thanks to everyone who came out to Snowball 2009! It was a tremendous success as a result of the hard work of the Snowball Committee and our sponsors. We'd like to thank Research in Motion (RIM), Bell Aliant xwave, the Office of Dalhousie University President Tom Traves, as well as the Office of Alan Shaver, Vice-President Academic and Provost, Dalhousie Faculty of Computer Science, Dalhousie Student Services, and the Dalhousie Student Union.

Attached to this post is the budget for the Computer Science Society for September 2009-August 2010, complete with year-to-date numbers up to November 6th.

This will be presented in Council on Thursday to be voted on, and amended if necessary.

Dal CS: NACLO Competition Opens


The NACLO (North American Computational Linguistics Olympiad) is a competition for Middle & High School students (grades 6-12) which presents problems involving language and logic. All problems are written and no prior background in linguistics or computer science is necessary.
